Conference Notes is a free, offline notes companion for conference talks. Everything — your notes, your photos, everything — stays on this device. There is no account, no server, and nothing is ever sent anywhere over the network, except the one-time download of the offline text-scan engine described below.
Open the Schedule tab, pick a day, and tap + Add a note under the session you're sitting in. Type the speaker and talk title, add photos, and write notes as the talk goes. Everything saves automatically as you type — there's no separate save step, though a Save button is there to close the note and confirm.
Tap • Bullet above the notes field to start a bulleted line, or just keep typing — pressing Enter on a bulleted line continues the list automatically. Press Enter twice on an empty bullet to drop back to plain text.
Attach a photo (e.g. of the title slide) and tap Scan text on it. The first time you do this, the app downloads a small offline text-reading engine (about 5 MB) so that recognising text never requires sending your photo anywhere — it all happens on your device. After that first download, scanning works completely offline. Recognised text is appended to your notes, ready to edit.
From the Help tab, tap Import a program (PDF) and choose the program file. The app reads it entirely on your device — the PDF is never uploaded anywhere. It looks for a "Time – Time, Room" line per session and a "Time Speaker Name" line per talk, which covers most conference-platform exports. You'll see a count of what it found before anything changes; nothing is replaced until you tap Use this schedule. Titles and speaker names are always editable by hand afterwards if anything comes through wrong. Any notes you've already written are kept regardless — importing only changes what's shown on the Schedule tab, never your notes.
Programs rarely list a speaker's organisation in the schedule text itself, so that field always stays manual — type it in if you know it.
Mark any talk on the Schedule tab as one you're attending by tapping the circle next to it. Other talks happening at that exact time grey out — pick different talks in different rooms freely, only clashing times grey out. The My Plan tab shows just what you've marked, in time order across every day, with an Up Next card pulling out whichever one is coming up soonest based on your phone's clock. Talks that have already started are marked "Finished" and fade slightly, both here and on the Schedule tab — this updates automatically about once a minute while the app is open.
To share your plan with someone, go to Export → Share / export my plan — it sends a plain-text itinerary through your phone's share sheet, or downloads as a text file if sharing isn't available.
Every note you've taken, across every day, in one place — newest first. Tap any note to open and edit it.
Restoring a backup adds those notes to what's already on this device — it never deletes anything.
Android (Chrome): tap the Install button in the top bar, or use Chrome's menu → "Install app". If the button doesn't appear, make sure you're using Chrome itself and not a browser opened from inside another app.
iPhone/iPad: open this page in Safari — Chrome on iOS cannot install apps. Tap the Share icon, then "Add to Home Screen".
Nothing is stored on a server, so a fault here means checking this device. If a note seems to have disappeared, check the Export tab's storage status first. If in doubt, export a backup immediately, then reload the app.
No data of any kind leaves this device except the described one-time OCR engine download, which contains no information about you or your notes. This app is provided as-is, with no warranty; you are responsible for backing up your own notes. Conference Notes is proprietary software developed by Kyran Staunton — you may use it freely, but may not reproduce, redistribute, or claim ownership of it or its source.
